Choctaw County Court Dockets

Probate and Federal Court Records
Probate files should not be searched as ordinary trial court files unless a related Circuit Court case exists. Wills, estates, adoptions, guardianships, conservatorships, name changes, and recording matters route through Probate Judge Jason Sturdivant and the Choctaw Probate online services portal. Some probate matters are public, but adoption and mental-health files are restricted.

Public Access to Choctaw County Court Records

Restricted Choctaw County Court Records
Several record categories should not be treated as open public files. Juvenile court records and reports are confidential under Ala. Code 12-15-133. Adoption records are sealed or confidential under Ala. Code 26-10E-31. Mental-health commitment records can include sensitive medical information and should not be described as generally searchable.
